Mr. Hollis!
Thanks for all the wonderful memories you left. You were an amazing caring loving man that looked out for everyone! Everyone always wanted your class! The favorite teacher of all time! I love you! Thank you for everything that you have done and did as it made a difference in my life.

Mr. Hollis was, and always will be, my favorite teacher. I remember all the talks we had together. He would always tell me that I was a capable person and I never believed it. He gave me more strength and courage than anyone else ever could. He is my hero, my role model. And my inspiration. He gave me the confidence in myself that I needed in order to be successful in life. He was one of the main reasons why I decided to become a Marine. I will never ever forget him. I will never ever forget rushing to hug him at the end of every day when school was over. Words simply do no justice. We were all simply incredibly lucky to have had such a wonderful man in our lives. He will be greatly missed. But will forever remain in our hearts. I hope he liked that card I was able to send to him for his birthday. I would love to know what he thought of it. I love you Mr. Hollis. And I can only hope to be half as good a person as you were. My deepest condolences to his family. -Carla A.

I was a student at Marco from 1979 - 1981. In 7th & 8th grade either everyone wanted Mr. Hollis to be his/her teacher or coach. I was lucky because I had him for both! Mr. Hollis was an icon at the school as he was loved by all. He always had a smile and had such a positive outlook on life. I have thought about him over the years, and I'm sorry to hear of his passing... He was a man who touched so many in such a thoughtful way, and he will be remembered always. Go Roadrunners!

He was one of a kind. How many times has that been said? Always with a smile, a joke, and a warm endearing charm. We have all be lucky to have had you in our lives.

As I reflect on all the wonderful times JB and our families spent together in the High Sierras when he and I were just kids.........it seems impossible he has left us at such an early age. But I firmly believe he is gathering his rewards for his service to God while he lived and loved in this "world gone mad," That fact calms me. Please accept Ginny's an my condolences and may He give you and your family strength through this grieving period. I will never forget JB. Nor will anyone else who met and learned from him.

We love you sooooo much and pray for you daily. We pray that our Glorious Father may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. We pray that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His inheritance and His incomparably great power. (Eph 1:17 - 19)

When you have had the privilege to know someone like JB and the chance to witness the way he loved people and life, you know the Lord has done a work. Few of us can remember a situation when JB was not able to find something positive to say. I expect the only “negative” thing we will hear from his raspy voice is when his relatives and friends arrive in heaven - “What took you so long!” He loved and now his reward is with our Lord.

Rod and I send our sincere condolences to JB's family at this very sad time. Bettyann--My heart goes out to you and your family. Don't know if you remember, but you worked with my mother, Margaret Heck at Penney's for many years. Please know that you are remembered in prayer at this time.
